Each year, Columbia Sportswear teams with Mast General Store to gather gently worn coats and jackets for our neighbors who need them for the coldest part of the year. Columbia has already jumpstarted this year’s collection by donating jackets for Hurricane Helene relief!

This is the 19th year that Mast Store has asked its guests and customers to Share the Warmth by checking their closets for coats and jackets “looking” for a new home. Mast Store is working with local organizations in each community to give your old jacket new purpose as someone else’s favorite jacket.

“Share the Warmth has been one of Mast Store’s longest running and most important partnerships, but this year gives each of us new reason to be grateful for what we have and generous with what we share,” said Mast Store President Lisa Cooper.
 
Over the years, Mast Store has found that children and youth sizes, along with larger adult sizes (XXL and larger), are the most difficult ones to come by to meet the needs of local partners. The need in some areas will be magnified because of the damage caused by Hurricane Helene, so, in this year’s Share the Warmth campaign, we will also welcome donations of sweaters and blankets in addition to outerwear.

“Our friends and neighbors in Western North Carolina continue working to salvage their personal belongings and put their lives back together in the aftermath of Helene. We thank Columbia for its generous donation of coats to mountain residents following this devasting storm and ask every Mast Store guest who might have an extra coat, jacket, or blanket in the back of their closets to donate it and help spread kindness, compassion, and warmth to those experiencing an unprecedented need for outerwear and coverings,” said Cooper.
