Seventy years ago, Ruth Campbell Bigelow changed the way we drink tea in the United States. An avid tea connoisseur, Ruth thought tea drinkers, like herself, would enjoy a more zestfully flavored tea. Happening upon a special colonial recipe that called for tea to be blended with orange peel and spices, she decided to try to re-create what she felt sounded like a wonderful idea....

Ruth experimented with different blends of tea and spices in the family kitchen. She finally arrived at what she thought was the best tasting recipe. After sharing samples with family, friends and acquaintances, one of them reported back that her new tea had caused nothing but constant comments. Thus, the "Constant Comment" name was born.

In the ensuing years, Ruth’s son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters are continuing to expand Ruth's idea with many new varieties of tea, including the American Classic Teas available HERE. Little could Ruth have imagined that the tea company she started in her kitchen so many years ago would sell over a billion cups of tea this past year. Now, that’s something to celebrate…. Preferably over a tall glass of tea!
